Two distinct ways to tell the story of your wedding day.

Discover

Your wedding day belongs to you. The photography should feel like part of it.

Not an interruption to it. For fifteen years I have worked with couples across Cambridge, London and beyond who wanted images that tell the truth beautifully, without spending their day being directed in front of a camera.

I offer two distinct approaches. Both are documentary at the core. The choice of how your story is told is entirely yours.

Documentary

The Unscripted

No group line ups, no direction. I move through your day as a witness, building a complete and honest record of everything as it actually happened. The only exception is a few relaxed minutes of natural portraits for the two of you.

You will not spend an hour in a field while your guests carry on without you. You will not be asked to walk towards me and laugh. You will simply live your wedding day and I will document it.

Classic Coverage

Documentary photography at the core, with relaxed portraits and family groups woven in when you want them. The best of both approaches, without the day feeling like a photoshoot.

A small window of natural, unforced couple portraits. A handful of key family shots, kept short and painless. Everything else, witnessed exactly as it happens.

Venues across Cambridgeshire, London and further afield.

I have shot in barns, country houses, city halls and vineyards in Spain. Every wedding is different. The approach has never changed: quiet, documentary, honest photography that puts you back in the room when you look at it twenty years from now.

I shoot in Spanish, which opens doors at destination weddings involving Spanish and Latin American families. If your wedding has an international dimension, that matters.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Which venues are you a recommended supplier at?+

I'm a recommended supplier at Lanwades Hall, The Old Hall, The Granary Estates and Longstowe Hall. I also shoot regularly at South Farm, Hengrave Hall and Chippenham Park, though I'm not an official recommended supplier there. Either way, I know the light, the timings and the best corners for photos at each one, which usually means a smoother day for you.

Do you travel around the UK for weddings?+

Yes. I'm based in Cambridge and shoot most weddings across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and London, but travel further afield across the UK is no problem, just factor in travel costs for anything outside my usual patch.

Do you shoot destination weddings abroad?+

I do, and I shoot in Spanish, which helps at weddings involving Spanish or Latin American families. Europe and beyond are considered case by case, get in touch with your date and location and I'll tell you honestly whether it works.

What's the difference between your two coverage styles?+

Unscripted is documentary, I stay out of the way and photograph the day as it actually happens. Classic Coverage includes more directed portraits and posed moments alongside the candid work. Most couples land somewhere between the two, we'll talk it through at the consultation.

We hate having our photos taken, is that a problem?+

Not at all, if anything it's who I shoot for. There's no posing, no orchestrated moments, no manufactured smiles for the camera. You live your day, I document it as it actually happens, that's the whole point of the style.

What's included in the £2,000?+

Full day documentary coverage, prep to last dance, a private online gallery to download and share, and a personal reply from me within 48 hours of enquiring. No hidden extras added on after you've booked.

What if you're ill, or your gear fails on the day?+

I carry multiple sets of backup gear and everything is backed up on the day itself, so equipment failure isn't a risk to your photos. If I was ever genuinely unable to shoot, I have a team of photographers I trust to step in.

Do you offer video, or work with a videographer?+

Yes, I work closely with a videographer I trust completely. You can see how we work together on the photography and videography page.

How far in advance should we book?+

Popular Saturdays in peak season (May to September) can go a year or more ahead. If your date's midweek or off season, there's often more flexibility. Either way, enquire as soon as you have a date and venue confirmed.

How quickly do you reply to enquiries?+

Within 48 hours, usually sooner. I read every enquiry myself.

How do we book?+

First we make sure your date is actually free. Then a quick Zoom call or a visit to the studio, that's usually all it takes to know we're a good fit. Once your deposit or booking fee is paid, you'll get a confirmation email and your contract straight away.

In their own words

"During the wedding it didn't feel like a ball ache when Juan asked for photos, it felt more exciting like 'what has he got planned now'. He engaged with everyone at the wedding and is a genuine talented bloke."

Jade & Lloyd · Bunny Hill Farm

"His ability to capture not just the beautiful moments, but also the emotions and joy of the day was nothing short of magical. My wife and I both don't enjoy having our photo taken but Juan made us both feel at ease."

J & R · Notley Abbey

"He has this incredible ability to blend into the day, cracking great jokes and creating a relaxed atmosphere so effortlessly that we often forgot we were even being photographed. And it shows in the final images."

Amelia & Tom · Lanwades Hall
