Fifteen years, two ways of working

I've been photographing weddings for over fifteen years, long enough to have tried nearly every approach there is. What I settled on is this, some couples want their day captured exactly as it happens, with nobody directing anything. Others want that same honesty, plus a handful of images they've actually posed for, to hang on a wall or hand to their parents. Neither is more me than the other. I built The Unscripted and Classic Coverage because I stopped believing one size fits every couple, and started asking each one what they actually wanted instead.

I'm a recommended supplier at Lanwades Hall, Longstowe Hall, and The Old Hall Ely. That's not a badge I paid for, it's what happens when a venue watches how you work with their couples over enough weddings that they're comfortable putting their name next to yours. If you're getting married somewhere I haven't shot before, that same standard travels with me. I also work closely with a small group of trusted suppliers across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, so if you need a recommendation for anything else on the day, I'm usually the first person couples ask.

Most people don't feel natural in front of a camera, and I don't expect you to. Some of the couples I've enjoyed working with most started the day telling me they hate having their photo taken. That's fine, it's not a problem to fix, it's just where we start. By the time the day's moving, most of that awkwardness has quietly disappeared, not because I've directed it away, but because I know how to be around people without making them perform.
