Our couples’ sessions are fun, relaxed and designed to give you a beautiful collection of images you’ll love to show and display.
So, you’ve both plucked up the courage and thrown caution to the wind and have prepped yourselves to being papped. THANK YOU! Here’s what to expect from your engagement shoot.
I honestly do appreciate the fact that YOU appreciate photography enough to agree to an engagement shoot, and I will promise to work so hard to ensure you enjoy the experience and of course get a collection of images that you will be so proud off.
What’s Not Included In Your Engagement Shoot
You’ll not get the usually cheesy images, I’ll never ask you to do something that you are not completely at ease with… It’s okay if you don’t usually do PDA’s or even hold hands.
So, Let’s Get on With Planning Your Engagement Shoot!
Pre-wedding shoots & couple shoots are usually photographed during the week, and on some Sundays (very occasionally, on a Saturday). However, I’ll do all I can to work around your schedules, so let’s get a few dates in the diary, you know, just in case it rains on one of our options.
Location, Location, Location
Where on earth do we shoot? This is up to you. Ideally someone that has some meaning to you both. Where you first met… where you had your first date… You get the general idea. Or we could just shoot your couples session in Miami. Seriously, look at my travel diary below, just in case you’ll be there too. Wooded areas work great in the shots, because we have shade and it’s a nice walk for you both.
We can shoot where ever you want to. Contact me, and look through some previous couples’ session galleries for some ideas on locations and for a little inspiration.

What to Wear
Whatever you feel comfortable in, whatever suits the environment, but generally wear whatever you want. But, I would suggest you don’t wear bright colours/patterns. Please avoid whites and logos. Remember, I want you to look back at your images in twenty years and not feel that they look out of date.
Timing is
Everything
Unless you’ve chosen a full pre-wedding shoot, then your couples shoot should take about two hours, which will give us enough time to wonder around, chat and get some stunning images.
Then, four weeks after we’ve had our walk, you’ll receive a link to your private, password protected gallery and slideshow.
You’ll either be able to download the full resolution images or have them on a Usb – it’s up to you.
Not Just The Two of Us
Can Bouncer, Fluffy, Bailey, Twinkles come along too? Absolutely! It’s a couples shoot, it’s a pre-wedding or engagement shoot, but REALLY it’s telling the story of you, including your pet pooch.
Thinking of including your horse in a shoot? We can so do that too, but that will require a little more planning regarding times and locations.
Can Kids Join Us On Our Engagement Shoot?
If you’ve got them, then bring ’em, but all of a sudden we’ll call it a family shoot. That way your kids can get involved, they can use a camera to shoot and we’ll end up playing tag.
Cats & Dogs Out There!
What if it rains? My equipment and I are very used to working wet weather. BUT, I want to make the entire experience enjoyable for you both, so you may not relish me dragging you around wet woodlands in the pouring rain. Which is why we would pencil in a few possible dates… and if those don’t work out, then we’ll pencil a few more. I’ll try to work to your schedules, so please don’t take precious time off work.

Here’s my promise to you. I guarantee that you’ll absolutely love the experience, love the images and that you’ll be so proud to share them on social media as well as want to print and display them. And if not… Then I’ll refund your session fee AND you’ll still get to keep the images.

That’s music to my ears! Let’s do your pre-wedding shoot and if you then decide to book me to shoot your wedding, you pre-wedding fee will be deducted from your wedding invoice – as a thank you. Check out our wedding photography packages.

What makes them worth the drive is the shop itself, a working kitchen you can walk into, taste from, and sit down in with a proper coffee while you talk through your design. Does the venue change the price?
No. Both The Unscripted and Classic Coverage start from the same £2,000, whichever of these twelve venues you choose. Travel further afield or abroad is quoted separately once your venue and date are confirmed.
What if my venue isn't one of these twelve?
That's most weddings. These are simply the venues I return to most often, not a restriction on where I'll shoot. Get in touch with your venue and date and I'll tell you honestly what I'd do with it.
Does my venue affect which package suits me, The Unscripted or Classic Coverage?
Not really, both work at any of these venues. It's more about how you want your day photographed than where it happens. Compare the two packages if you're still deciding.
Do you already know the venue coordinators at these locations?
Yes, at all twelve, since I've shot each one repeatedly across different seasons. That familiarity means less time spent working out logistics on the day, and more time actually photographing it.
Do you pay to be recommended?
No. I never pay to be recommended. I'm privileged to be recommended by these venues, and that's exactly why I offer special rates to couples marrying at them.
These twelve aren't the limit.

The Unscripted
No direction, no posing, no formal portraits unless a moment creates one naturally. I move through your day as a witness, building a complete and honest record of everything as it actually happened.
You will not spend an hour in a field while your guests carry on without you. You will not be asked to walk towards me and laugh. You will simply live your wedding day and I will document it.

Documentary photography at the core, with relaxed portraits and family groups woven in when you want them. The best of both approaches, without the day feeling like a photoshoot.
A small window of natural, unforced couple portraits. A handful of key family shots, kept short and painless. Everything else, witnessed exactly as it happens.

Full Day Coverage
From getting ready through to the dancing. No overtime charges. I stay until the day is done because the best moments rarely happen on a schedule.

All final edited images delivered in a private online gallery. Timeless, film-influenced editing. Nothing that will make you cringe in ten years.
Pre-wedding Shoots
A relaxed shoot before the wedding day. A chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and for me to get to know you properly before the day itself.
Wedding Albums
Handcrafted albums, parent books and fine art prints. Physical objects that outlast any hard drive or cloud storage subscription. Heirlooms, not just files.
Destination Weddings
I shoot in Spanish, which opens doors at destination weddings involving Spanish or Latin American families. Europe and beyond taken on a case by case basis.

Wedding Photography Packages
The thing couples tell me most isn't about the photos, it's how relaxed they felt with me there. People who dread having their photo taken keep saying the same thing afterwards: they forgot I was in the room. That's not luck, it's fifteen years of learning how to put people at ease in front of a camera, across Cambridge, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, London and further afield.
I work in two distinct styles, and which one is right for you depends entirely on how you want your day to feel, not on budget or occasion.

Contact me with your date and venue, and I'll confirm whether I'm available before we go any further.
We talk it through
We'll meet, either at the studio or over Zoom, to talk through your day and which style, Unscripted or Classic, suits how you want it to feel.
Your date is confirmed
A booking fee and signed contract secure your date. The fee is 25% of your package price and comes off your total, it isn't an additional charge.
Planning call
Closer to your wedding, we go through timings, confirm any add-ons such as a second photographer, and, on Classic Coverage, the family shot list.
Your wedding day
Full coverage, getting ready through to the dancing, in whichever style you've chosen. No overtime charges.
Gallery delivered
Your gallery arrives within 6 to 8 weeks, or 2 weeks on The Complete Story. It stays live for 1 year on Unscripted and Classic Coverage, 5 years on Complete Story. If your package includes the album, or you've added one, design begins once you've approved your gallery.

Common questions
Which package is right for us if we hate having our photo taken?
The Unscripted. No group line up, no directed posing beyond a few relaxed minutes for the two of you. Want guaranteed family shots too? Classic Coverage gives you both.
Can we mix The Unscripted with a few family group shots?
Not as a scheduled part of it, there's no time set aside. I'll catch a natural moment if it happens, but it isn't promised. Classic Coverage guarantees that window instead.
Do all three packages include full day coverage?
Yes. All three run for the full day, the difference is in how the day is photographed and what surrounds it, not how much of it is covered.
What does The Complete Story add that we can't just book separately?
A pre-wedding shoot, a second photographer, a signing mount, a night portrait package and the 40 Page Legacy Album are all available separately on their own. The Complete Story bundles all of it, plus a longer 5 year gallery and full resolution downloads for all your guests, at a set price for couples who already know they want the lot.
Do you offer a second photographer, and is it worth it?
Yes. A second photographer is usually from £350 as an add-on to The Unscripted or Classic Coverage, and is included as standard within The Complete Story. It's most worth it for larger weddings or venues with two locations happening at once, such as the groom getting ready across town from the bride, where one photographer physically can't be in both places.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12 to 18 months out, particularly for summer Saturdays. Earlier is always safer than later.
Do you shoot destination weddings, and does that change the pricing?
Yes, including abroad. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately once venue and dates are confirmed, get in touch for a proper figure rather than a guess.
What is included in each wedding photography package?
The Unscripted stays observational throughout, bar a few natural minutes of couple portraits, no scheduled group shots, with a gallery live for 1 year and full resolution downloads for the main clients. Classic Coverage adds a 20 to 30 minute window for family groups and relaxed portraits, on the same 1 year gallery and download terms. The Complete Story builds on either, adding a pre-wedding shoot, a second photographer, a signing mount, a night portrait package, the 40 Page Legacy Album, a 5 year gallery and full resolution downloads for all guests.
Do you know the venues you shoot at well?
I shoot at venues right across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and London, and have a growing list of featured wedding venues I return to and know well. If your venue isn't on that list, it doesn't change how I work, I'll still be there early to walk the grounds and find the light before your guests arrive.
Do you do video?
