A regular booking, for good reason
Swynford Manor sits at Six Mile Bottom, just off the A11, about twenty minutes from Cambridge. The manor house dates back to the eighteenth century, formerly known as Paddocks House, set across lawns and paddocks.
It holds up to 150 guests during the day and 220 in the evening, with twelve guest bedrooms and a separate honeymoon suite, so most of the wedding party can stay on site. Ceremonies happen either in the grounds or in the manor's own ceremony room, and the wedding breakfast is served in a large, air conditioned conservatory.
I've photographed several weddings here, enough to know the light across the lawns at different times of day, how the bridal suite's staircase photographs, and what the team will and won't let you do (an indoor confetti drop being a notable yes).
