The Unscripted is for couples who want to live their wedding day fully not pause it for the camera. No orchestrated moments. No manufactured smiles. No awkward posing in a field while the drinks reception carries on without you.

What this means for your day
Some photographers direct your wedding. I witness it.
There's a different kind of image that happens when people stop performing for the camera. A laugh that hasn't been asked for. A look between two people who think no one is watching. Your grandmother wiping her eyes. Your best friend already crying before you've even walked in. Those are the images you'll treasure in twenty years. Those are the images I'm here for.

No rigid shot lists
We'll talk beforehand about the people and moments that matter to you. After that, I work quietly and instinctively not from a clipboard.
No staged group shots
If a natural moment brings people together, I'll capture it. What you won't get is a lineup, no "now the cousins, now the cousins minus Dave," no list to work through.
No posed couple portraits
We'll slip away briefly for a few quiet, natural portraits together. No props, no instructions just the two of you.
No choreographed walking shots
Real movement. Real moments. Not "walk towards me, now walk away, now look back and laugh."
No intrusive presence
With 15+ years of experience, I know how to be invisible at exactly the right moment and present when it counts.

Before you decide
The questions couples actually ask
Is there really no posing at all, not even for a couple of shots?
Correct, within The Unscripted itself. The only exception is a brief, natural window for the two of you alone, no props, no instructions, just quiet time together while I photograph it. Everything else is observed exactly as it happens.
We have elderly relatives who won't want to be chased around for photos, is that a problem?
There's no scheduled family session on The Unscripted, so nobody gets pulled away or lined up. If people naturally come together, grandparents with the two of you, that moment gets photographed as it happens. If having a guaranteed set of family portraits matters more to you than the fully unposed approach, Classic Coverage sets aside a short, dedicated window for exactly that.
Will you ever ask us to do something for the camera?
No. I won't ask you to walk towards me, laugh on command, or hold a look. If a moment happens naturally, I photograph it. If it doesn't, it simply isn't there, and that's the point.
How is this different from Classic Coverage?
Both are documentary at their core, and both include a short, natural window for portraits of the two of you. The difference is family and group shots. Classic Coverage sets aside 20 to 30 minutes for a planned list of portraits and groups. The Unscripted doesn't schedule that at all, if it happens naturally, it's photographed, but there's no dedicated session for it. Compare both in full.
Do we need to give you a shot list or a timeline?
We'll talk beforehand about the people and moments that matter most to you, that's enough. From there I work instinctively, not from a clipboard, so there's no shot list to prepare.
What if the weather is bad on the day?
The approach doesn't change, quiet, observant coverage works in any weather. Rain, low light, and grey skies are still part of the day, and often make for more honest images than forced sunshine ever would.
We love black and white images, is that something you offer?
Yes. Every gallery includes a Black and White Highlights gallery, a skilfully curated collection of images that are simply asking to be expertly converted into black and white photographs, sitting alongside your full colour gallery rather than replacing it.
